Front Line Supervisor

Arivaca Boy’s Ranch is seeking a behavioral health professional to manage the day-to-day operations of our front-line BHPPs at our facility.


Arivaca Boy’s Ranch is an inpatient behavioral health facility for teenage boys (13-18). The boys have various individual struggles including anger management, histories of trauma, substance abuse, attachment and mood disorders, and mental health diagnoses. Most client’s treatment with us is for the duration of 10-12 months. We facilitate up to 30 residents at one time. We use equine therapy coupled with Arbinger philosophies of relationship building, as well as traditional individual and group therapy.


The primary responsibility of this position is to live an exemplary life and maintain a safe and caring environment for staff and clients. This job is more involved in front-line care than it is administrative, the applicant should be skilled in de-escalation tactics and crisis intervention. The successful applicant will be required to live at the facility on a 7-day shift rotation with another manager (7 days on, 7 days off). Room and board are provided for all front-line employees who live at the facility for the duration of their shift.


It is also essential that the candidate demonstrates a level of basic fitness that they would feel comfortable working outdoors in the summer and walking in the wilderness for 7+ miles at a time.


You will receive training in

  • Arbinger Philosophies and Practice as taught by leading experts

  • Trauma-informed care

  • State regulations and policies as they pertain to our facility (level 2 inpatient)

  • Non-violent crisis intervention



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of social sciences or human behavior with 2 years of behavioral health experience OR

  • An Associate’s degree in the fields of social sciences or human behavior with 3 years of behavioral health experience OR

  • A High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of behavioral health experience


The Ideal Candidate…

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of behavioral health experience, residential health experience preferred.

  • They will have at least 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth

  • They will be familiar with trauma-informed care principles

  • They will have experience in clinical documentation

  • They will have a demonstrated ability to cultivate healthy boundaries with clients

  • They will have experience supervising and managing a team of 5 or more people, demonstrated leadership abilities

  • They will have experience in training others and feel confident enforcing policy and correcting others in a responsive and caring way.

  • Experience working with horses is not required, although a familiarity with horses or desire to learn more about working with horses would prove an asset to the right candidate.


Upon offer of employment the candidate will need to obtain:

  • CPR/ First Aid

  • TB test

  • Work Physical verifying they are fit to perform the requirements of the job

Applicants must be at least 21 years-of-age or older and be able to pass a drug screen and fingerprint clearance check.




  • The successful applicant will be paid a day rate of $175 per day
